‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ Grace adidas’ 3MC Skate Shoe
Looking back at the ’90s, adidas recently put together a Beavis and Butt-Head colorway for its 3MC skate shoe.
Building on the clean and classic profile of the shoe, the new look features a black reinforced canvas upper covered in an all-over print comprised of the iconic duo’s favorite convenience store snacks. Branding on the shoe comes in the form of set of subtle Three Stripes stitching, red Trefoil logo at the eyestays and a similarly branded leather heel patch. Finishing up the design of the shoe is a Beavis and Butt-Head tongue patch and a flexible Geoflex rum rubber outsole.
No word on the other collaborative pieces that previously leaked, but expect the Beavis and Butt-Head x adidas 3MC to release at select retailers like 43einhalb November 3.

Previews: Sandra Chevrier – “Cages and the Allure of Freedom” @ Lancaster MOAH
Tomorrow night (October 21st) at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH), Sandra Chevrier (interviewed) will be presenting a new body of work featuring her masks made of comic book imagery. Cages and the Allure of Freedom from Canadian-born artist the will be part of a series of shows curated by Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Gallery, and will include large sculptural works from her for the first time.
Chevrier further explains – “A man can believe until his last breath that he is different from a Caged animal in a Zoo. But through all his life until his death; he will be living in a prison without walls and will still believe he is free when in fact, everyday he will be shackled, whipped, and exist in captivity. We are all slaves of something, of someone, of an idea.
The Cages series as been revolving around submission, oppression, unfreedom, confinement and imprisonment. Cages are Cages, whether they were build with steel or from the fabric of the mind. We cannot be free outside the Cage unless we are able to experience the freedom within it. The freedom is inside us. Freedom within a Cage. I have a dream. A dream that freedom is not just an idea or a word. Only; I am not sure what it is… Not yet.”

A Porous White Aluminum Sculpture Encourages Exploration and Play at the Jinji Lake Biennale
For the 2018 Jinji Lake Biennale in Suzhou, China, Marc Fornes and his art and architecture studio THEVERYMANY (previously here and here) installed a porous outdoor pavilion crafted from white aluminum. Holes that span the bulbous structure allow light to pour in from each direction, sprinkling the interior with a variegated influx of miniature light beams. Japan’s ‘Mario Kart’ Attraction Continues Despite Nintendo’s Lawsuit
It was announced recently that Japan’s MariCar attraction that sees tourists donning Mario Kart outfits and driving game-inspired vehicles on the road would be shut down. However, the unofficial Nintendo service remains in business under a new name called MariMobility.
Nintendo handed a cease and desist to the company, alongside an order to pay nearly $90,000 USD in damages for all the accidents tourists have caused in the carts, as well as for intellectual property violation. It is currently unknown if the company has a deadline for when they must stop its service, or if it is ignoring Nintendo’s demand altogether. But after these most recent photos, it is speculated the battle between both companies is likely to continue.

Spooky X-Rays Reveal the Bone Structures of Oregon Zoo Residents
As a seasonally appropriate topic for Halloween, the Oregon Zoo is posting a few of their favorite animal X-rays taken during routine health exams. Included in the mix is a branch-dwelling chameleon, open-beaked toucan, and a bat that appears to be caught mid-flight. The scans are a normal part of the check-ups at the zoo, and are used by animal experts as a helpful diagnostic tool to minimize anesthesia and provide faster results. ‘Watchmen’ Will Have A Rockin’ Soundtrack Courtesy Of Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor And Atticus Ross
HBO’s upcoming ‘Watchmen’ series is going to rock… well at least in one way. Nine Inch Nails rockers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will help score the series. This marks the first time the duo have contributed original music to a scripted TV show, but they previously won an Academy Award for their score for ‘The Social Network’. (Who knew Trent Reznor had an Oscar?) The pair has also been recognized for their scores for ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Patriots Day’ as well as the PBS documentary series ‘The Vietnam War’. In addition, Nine Inch Nails songs have been included in countless TV episodes and movies, particularly “Closer” and “Hurt.” Created by Damon Lindelof (‘The Leftovers’, ‘Lost’), ‘Watchmen’ is based on the DC Comics graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, originally published 1986. In 2009, a film adaptation, directed by Zack Snyder was released. Lindelof’s HBO series appears to be set during a time following the events of the comic and movie, in which the world has narrowly avoided a global nuclear apocalypse.
